Virtual Tour

Welcome home to Solid Rock Ranch! Feel your shoulders relax as you approach this tranquil 73 acre ranch property located just a few miles from Enchanted Rock, about 90 minutes from Austin and less than 30 minutes from historic Fredericksburg. Solid Rock Ranch is one of only eight ranches in the exclusive gated Enchanted Vistas community.

As soon as you enter the property, you'll know you're somewhere special: less than a quarter mile down the driveway, take a peek to the right and you'll be rewarded with a spectacular view of Enchanted Rock with one of the property's two lakes in the foreground. Meander on past the paddocks, the horse barn, the barndominium and one of the property's many granite dome outcroppings.

Pull into the porte cochere and enter the two-story 4,700 square foot home through the 8 knotty alder door with beaded glass sidelights. The barrel-ceilinged Entry with iron and glass light chandeliers and Kingwood hardwood floor welcomes you inside.

Enter the expansive great room with a soaring 26 vaulted and beamed ceiling and walls of windows. The room is warmed by the floor-to-ceiling rock-faced corner fireplace with mesquite mantle. It is lit by two heavy iron chandeliers, and offers an unobstructed view of the 1-1/4 acre iron-fenced back yard and the stocked lake beyond. French doors lead you out to the wrap-around loggia.

The Leuders stone loggia wraps around most of the east side and the entire back of the house, and is accessible from the great room, dining room, guest bedroom and master suite. With sweeping views of the rolling hills, lakes and wildlife, theres plenty of room for outdoor living and dining while enjoying the cool hill country breezes. Two built-in log storage areas make easy work of stoking the fire inside. Wooden benches surrounding the entire area provide ample seating for all your guests. Underneath the loggia is a 2,200 square foot walk space that is currently unfinished but could be used as a storm shelter or wine cellar.

Nestled between the great room and the kitchen is the large dining area. Its easy to imagine entertaining family and friends in this space with ample room for large parties. The eat-in kitchen includes a cozy breakfast nook, a granite island with cooktop, stainless steel appliances and mesquite countertops. Theres a pass-through opening to the great room over the farmhouse sink, and walls full of custom bead board cabinets.

The ground floor master suite spans the entire west side of the home and houses the master bedroom, bathroom, a utility room and office. The spacious master bedroom is on the back of the house with French doors leading out to the counter-sunk hot tub in the loggia. The master bath boasts a large walk-in shower with double shower heads, travertine walls and flooring, double pedestal sinks, a separate water closet and two walk-in closets. The utility room is outfitted with washer/dryer connections and additional storage. The owners office space has two closets, a French door leading to the side yard, views of the front yard and access to the entry.

When guests come to visit, they wont want to leave, so you'll be happy to have three guest bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The downstairs guest bedroom opens onto the loggia and has a footed tub in the bathroom.

The mudroom features washer/dryer connections, a large sink, ample storage and a French door leading to the front yard.

This custom-built home was sited to maximize views and usage of the 2.5 acre lake, which is stocked with catfish and perch. It is a steel frame structure with energy-efficient spray foam insulation in the roof and outside walls. It is clad in native stone and stucco with a standing seam roof. All interior doors are knotty alder and Kingwood hardwoods are laid throughout.

If your guests prefer more privacy (or if they plan to stay awhile!), you can house them in the +/- 2,000 square foot living quarters, which is part of the 5,000 square foot fully insulated Mueller steel building. The barndominium is a 1 bed/1 bath unit with a full kitchen, living/dining combo and office. The kitchen features granite countertops, tile backsplash, custom bead board cabinetry and three large pantries or hall storage spaces with shelving. The bathroom has travertine tile on the floors and walls, a large walk-in shower and double pedestal sinks. The bedroom is over 300 square feet with loads of natural light and deep walk-in closets that run the full length of one wall. Off the bedroom is a sizable office with French doors leading to the fenced-in yard, garage access and a closet. All interior doors are solid knotty alder and the flooring is low maintenance high quality laminate. The 8 knotty alder front door opens out to a covered porch and a large yard surrounded by an iron fence. The +/- 3,000 square foot garage can be accessed through the living area or the office and has outside walk-through doors and two RV-sized overhead doors. There is storage over living quarters and built-in shelving along the walls.

The horse barn is classic equine construction with three 12x16 stalls and separate feed and tack rooms. There are two 2.5 acre paddocks and one 5 acre paddock with pipe and v-mesh fencing and a 20x60m standard dressage arena.

There are two hayfields, 8 acres and 3 acres, and hay barn. A high-fenced garden area near the barndominium keeps the deer out of your herbs and vegetables.

The 2.5 acre lake near the house is stocked with catfish and perch, and the 5.5 acre lake beyond is ready for whatever you want to put in it! The 20,000-gallon rainwater collection system supplies the house with ultraviolet-treated water and is augmented with two water wells, one producing 50 GPM off a 2hp pump. Both the front and the fenced back yard have automatic sprinkler systems.

All utilities are underground and serviced by CTEC, but you will be prepared for emergencies with the 52kw backup generator which serves the house, and a 60kw backup generator that serves the barns and water pumps. A 500 gallon propane tank keeps the house heated.

The Homeowners Association maintains the community road (Granite Ridge) and the security gate at the entrance to the community. The property fronts on Keese Road (west) and Granite Springs Drive (south); the perimeter is fully fenced. The landscape is gently rolling hills with two lakes and expansive views toward Enchanted Rock. The property is virtually teeming with wildlife; its not unusual to see large herds of white tail deer and wild turkey from the homestead.

Current ag-exempt property taxes are about $9,100 per year.

If you are looking for a peaceful place to call home, you owe it to yourself to check out the Solid Rock Ranch. The pastoral hills, gentle breezes, relaxed fishing and frequent wildlife sightings will melt all your worries away!
